Power of memory could be enhanced by eating fish. This report has been given by a team of researchers from Alberta Uinversity. This team explained that how fish eating can improve and increase memory. It was suggested that best suitable diet for a normal healthy brain is DHA (docosahexaenoic acid). Omega-3 fatty acids are present in DHA which can be taken from fish naturally. This study was conducted in animals and they were placed in 2 groups. One group was given a diet which was rich in DHA components, whereas healthy diet but devoid of DHA components was given to the 2nd group. This team analyzed that the level of DHA in memory part of brain (hippocampus) was more i.g increased by 30% when compared with second group who receive diet lack of DHA components.
One of the researchers in the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry named as Sauve, said:
“What we discovered is that memory cells in the hippocampus could communicate better with each other and better relay messages when DHA levels in that region of the brain were higher”. He further concluded that this is the reason that how eating fish can increase memory power. Top foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids are Flax Seeds, Walnuts, and Salmon. So have fish and enjoy.
